beating, battered and bruised
her forlorn longing is not lost upon us
despite splotches black and blue
collected over years of affliction
lol
carrying on, day by day
in an exasperated, and anguished type of way
her incessant thumping, never halting,
regardless of the purple & green
that shapes mountains and valleys
along her contoured silhouette
lol
i keep trying to send her away
entrusting her in the care of another –
only ever have her return
lol
with a new rainbow of colours,
forming umbrellas and puddles
and in her never ending pumping
a beat begins to flow

Kit is an introvert who’s creativity is expressed through multiple mediums. Their writing often deals with the tension between what is (real) and what is not, with some of their poetry examining the uncertainty that comes with simply being alive. For a long time, they’ve struggled with accepting themselves for who they are, and it’s their dream to create a space in the world where everyone is free to be themselves – even if it’s just while reading a poem.
